After reading the article my first reaction to my friend 'Pranay Oswal' who posted the article in the WhatsApp group was this:
🤣🤣🤣 as if they are doing a favor on google
I mean seriously, is it a joke to build an ecosystem as big & popular on a global scale to compete with google ?
With a lot of struggle it took 15 Years for google to build & get people addicted to their ecosystem; a new player just can't do it.
Microsoft offered equivalent services way before google was even a competition still they haven't been able to get the services popularized among their windows PC users.
Early 2000s Microsoft had msn.
A browser with news & video website that acted as part search engine; which surprisingly offered email service as well !
In a nutshell it provided their version of following goole services:-
Google Chrome
Gmail
Google News
Google search
YouTube
Even with modern revolution of Microsoft they took everything to could including their proprietary microsoft office, onedrive & bing as crappy search engine as an answer to google drive & docs yet most population even Microsoft business user's don't use it the way they are supposed to. Microsoft's presence has significantly reduced to an OS + Office software provider merely a tool company that failed to impress Young generation
Today we surely have high speed internet & 4G mobile data connectivity even at remote places we can access internet but there's a gigantic problem which is people don't like to change.
We live in a world where
yahoomail | rediffmail | outlook/hotmail & dozens of other email services are available for free, even though a new user or even a user who wants a secondary email will always & does prefer Gmail !
Reason: Simplicity, Familiarity & why do the unnecessary R&D ?
You have Facebook, Instagram & mujra apps (you know what I mean) for videos but all combined together can & will not come nearby what YouTube offers.
YouTube is a dedicated platform for videos while others are social media there's a big difference.
Huawei's ambitions may work in China, as china has banned almost all google services & they have their own versions of google services.
Growth of china has stopped since 2016 china is consistently losing business & foreign investments in their own country; which is why they've been expanding to African, European & they've already captured south east Asian countries.
An individual company investing money is one thing & a government sponsored company investing is other & the other thing is very very bad. Huawei a chinese Tech Giant which has its deep ties with communist chinese government, many have considered Huawei to be owned and controlled by the Chinese government.
I read somewhere or watched a video can't remember exactly what it was but it goes like this: China has built infrastructure in Sri Lanka by offering loans so high that even in next 50 years sri lanka won't be able to repay.
What huawei intends to do Globally, without google is going to be a loss for them not for us; as they do not have a significant presence in India.Well, at least as a Cell phone manufacturer & seller.
